Cars with even number plates for even dates of the month queue to enter the St Philips Household Waste Recycling Centre in Bristol on its first day of opening since lockdown restrictions were imposed during the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. After weeks of the centre being shut there was high demand from people wanting to recycle their rubbish with queues up to 2 hours long. Bristol Waste have put in a system of cars with the last number on their number plates matching the date, so odd numbers can visit the centre on odd days of the month and even numbers can visit on even days of the month. More recycling centres are now open across the UK as the Government eases lockdown restrictions but the new rules include that social distancing must be maintained within the centre.
