  • © Licensed to London News Pictures. 19/02/2019. London, UK. Lauri Love stands outside Westminster Magistrates court with a banner reading 'No Punishment by Process' . Mr Love, who previously won an extradition case to face hacking charges in US, recently launched a civil case to recover materials seized by NCA agents at point of arrest over 5 years ago. Today the Judge ruled in favour of the NCA on the basis that the encrypted data on the two computers and drives was not his property. Mr Love sought clarification as to how this assessment had been arrived at, but none was forthcoming. Mr Bird for the NCA requested that the judge consider compelling Mr Love to cover court costs, but this was eventually rejected on technicality and in the spirit of bringing the matter to close. Mr Love commented in court that this request was punitive to the point of deterring normal people from seeking justice. The sitting judge also noted this case was an open judgement, rather than closed and details disclosed during proceedings could subject to future trial. Photo credit: Guilhem Baker/LNP
