Tens of thousands of starlings perform their nightly balletic murmurations in the sky above Aberystwyth as the day draws to an end. The migratory birds are coming to the end of their winter sojourn and will soon fly off to return to their breeding grounds in Scandinavia for the summer. Aberystwythis one of the few urban roosts in the country and draws people from all over the UK to witness the spectacular nightly displays between October and March.<br />

Press preview event for the 41st Bristol International Balloon Fiesta 2019 which will take place from 08 - 11 August 2019. For the preview up to 25 hot air balloons will take off from Filton Airfield, next to the Brabazon Hangar which is the site of a proposed new YTL Arena, and Aerospace Bristol to play homage to the 50th anniversary of Concorde. The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors and this year the Fiesta will be celebrating Icons of Bristol and look to highlight some of the things that make up the home of the International Balloon Fiesta. The event has joined forces with Aerospace Bristol to honour one of the city’s most famed creations, Concorde and Aardman Animations who are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Wallace and Gromit. Over the course of four days, the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta will play host to more than 100 colourful hot air balloons of all sizes and shapes.   • 20/02/2017. Albu Saif, Iraq. With an Iraqi Army Aviation attack helicopter IA-407 flies over Iraqi Security Force reinforcements moving into the village of Albu Saif as part of the ongoing offensive to retake western Mosul from the Islamic State.<br />

Iraqi forces reported today that one of its attack helicopters, supporting the ongoing Mosul Offensive, was shot down by Islamic State militants.

Views from the Kubicek balloon with pilot Doug Hoddinott on the morning mass ascent of over 50 balloons at the 41st Bristol International Balloon Fiesta 2019 which takes place from 08 - 11 August 2019. For the first time in the event's history the first mass ascent of the fiesta was brought forward a day early due to the forecast for bad weather on Friday and Saturday. The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors and this year the Fiesta will be celebrating Icons of Bristol and look to highlight some of the things that make up the home of the International Balloon Fiesta. The event has joined forces with Aerospace Bristol to honour one of the city’s most famed creations, Concorde and Aardman Animations who are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Wallace and Gromit.
