DJ Derek's funeral

GRANT MARSHALL aka Daddy G from Massive Attack, at the funeral of DEREK SERPELL-MORRIS known as DJ DEREK at St Agnes Church, St Pauls, Bristol. Derek then aged 73 went missing on 10 July 2015 in Bristol. His remains were discovered by a member of the public by Filton airfield near Cribbs Causeway on 10 March 2016. A former accountant at Cadburys, Derek became a DJ playing 60s rocksteady, reggae, ska, dancehall and soul music and in his middle age became a well known and respected DJ of Black and Jamaican music in Bristol and further afield. He played numerous gigs across the UK and appeared at many festivals including Glastonbury Festival. He also released his own compilation album, worked with Massive Attack and appeared in a Dizzee Rascal video. Photo credit : Simon Chapman/LNP
