Lines of police hold back fuel protesters who establish a blockade outside the Stanlow Oil Refinery at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. Organiser, Ian Charlesworth says that a 24 pence discount off the price of a litre of petrol is required to bring the UK in line with average European pricing and to keep British businesses competitive. He says he is expecting more than 1000 vehicles to turn up and is expecting to stay for at least a week. Please see special instructions for usage rates. Photo credit should read Joel Goodman/LNP
