FILE PICTURE The MOD has announced Up to 2,900 Army, 1,000 RAF and 300 Royal Navy staff to be made redundant in latest UK defence cuts. 19/07/2011. Members of the British Army marching through a Kent town for the first time in 40 years today, 19 July 2011. The 2nd Battalion The Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment is celebrating being awarded the freedom of the borough by marching through Gravesend. Gravesham Borough Council said the Army last marched through the town to mark the closure of Milton Barracks on 30 May 1969.
