All patient beds are in single en suite rooms, this is the first hospital within the NHS to be so equipped.  Some hospitals have a few single en suites but Tunbridge Wells is the first of its kind in the country .Ambulances have begun to transport inpatients from the old hospital next door from the children's wards, special care baby unit and maternity department to the neighbouring new hospital building.
