The Cathedral Clock and clock face built in 1855 and housed on the south west tower of Canterbury Cathedral is being dismantled ready to be renovated and re-guilded. The clock face weighing 78 kilos and measuring 8 feet in diameter is being shipped to the Cumbrai Clock Company in Penrith and will be absent from the cathedral for 18 months.
