Auctioneer Helena Newman fields bids for ''Nymphéas'' by Claude Monet, (Est. £25,000,000 - 35,000,000) which sold for a hammer price of £21,000,000 at Sotheby's Impressionist & Modern art evening sale in New Bond Street. This is the first major evening sale to take place after Sotheby’s agreed to a takeover by media and telecoms billionaire Patrick Drahi in a deal valued at $3.7bn (£2.9bn). The big five global auction houses (Sotheby's, Christie's, Bonhams, Phillips and China Guardian Auctions) will now be held privately.
