Runcorn Widnes Bridge is expected to be redeveloped if the Chancellor gives the go-ahead in the Spending Review today. The Bridge will become a toll bridge along with its yet to be built sister bridge, 'The Mersey Gateway' if the project is given the green light in the Government's Spending Review. Mersey Gateway bosses have said they are 'strongly encouraged' by comments from Chancellor George Osborne MP that Mersey Gateway was an "incredibly important project that I am really keen to see go ahead".
