Two barges, one housing a floating cafe, have sunk in Bristol docks with just the top of the cafe sign visible above the water and the shape of the cafe seen below the surface. The floating Greenshank Cafe and its sister barge Redshank built in 1936, part of the Bristol Packet fleet and moored near to the SS Great Britain, both sank last night at about 3am. Divers will examine the boat underwater on 16 June before it can be raised with airbags and an assessment made of the damage and whether the barge can operate again as a cafe.
