An army cadet holds the stern of a boat at the start point during the 182nd Durham Regatta rowing event held on the River Wear. The origins of the regatta date back to commemorations marking victory at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. This is the second oldest event of this type in the country and attracts over 2000 competitors from across the country.
