Over 600 pupils are absent from a Dartford school after a norovirus breakout.
The highly contagious illness, which causes diarrhoea and vomiting, has hit Oakfield Community Primary School in DARTFORD,KENT and more than 90 per cent of the700 pupils are off TODAY.
The school will have a “deep clean” tomorrow and is expected to have most of its pupils back on Monday.
Executive head teacher Garry Ratcliffe said: “We have had an increasing number of absent children this week – it reached a crisis where over 100 pupils were off school. “We then took the decision to give parents the option to keep their children at home today if they wanted to.
